This website is operated by Madeleine Harvey of Freedom From… Therapies. Throughout the site the terms “we”, “our” and “us” refer to Madeleine Harvey. The term “you” refers to the potential/actual client.
Freedom From…Therapies offers this website, including all the information, tools and services available, from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices here.
PAYMENTS
The first step in working with Madeleine is to book a 30-minute no obligation Clarity Call. The fee for this call is £15, payable at the time of booking via Paypal.
Please note that no therapy is given during this call, but you may receive advice to support you. If you are unable to pay via Paypal, simply contact Madeleine who can arrange a different method of payment.
Session Fees.
You agree to undertake therapy with Madeleine Harvey, at the costs stated on the fees page and on your proposal form (if applicable). For Hypnotherapy sessions, payment is due at the time of booking your session. Massage and Bowen sessions can be paid for at the time of booking or on the day of your treatment via card or cash.
Cancellation-Rescheduling-Non-Attendance Policy and Fees.
If you need to cancel or reschedule appointments, 24 hours’ notice is required. If you cancel/fail to attend without this notice you will be liable to pay for the full session.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your session will still need to finish at the allocated time or if there is not enough time to conduct the session, it will need to be re-scheduled, in which case a cancellation fee of up to 100% will apply.
If you arrive for treatment under the influence of mind-altering drugs or alcohol, the session will be suspended, and the full fee charged. Further sessions will be at the therapist’s discretion and may be cancelled permanently.
Refunds
Individual sessions paid for in advance but not used (and not within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment) will be refunded on request. Refund requests must be made within 3 months of payment. No refund will be given on sessions already taken and no refunds will be made for any sessions that are part of a programme.

Lifestyle-Medical Conditions & Contra-indications
You accept that our services are offered based on the information you supply and affirm that this has been complete and truthful. A medical questionnaire is conducted prior to/during the consultation, as part of the client intake form to establish any contra-indications to treatment. It is also used to assess whether your health is affecting (or being affected by) the therapeutic goals you wish to achieve.
Please update Madeleine Harvey of any medical changes during your course of therapy, or if you are returning to therapy after a period of absence.
It is not always appropriate to receive Hypnotherapy, Bowen or Massage Therapy. In these instances, you may be asked to seek advice and consent from you GP/consultant/other medical practitioner, prior to commencing any therapy. Madeleine Harvey reserves the right to refuse therapy at any time, with or without explanation.
Guarantees
We will always do our best to help you achieve your desired outcome but under no circumstances are any guarantees given as the results of therapy vary between individuals. To gain the optimum from your therapy, engagement, understanding it is a collaborative process, and willingness to follow advice and undertake any tasks is paramount.
ONLINE SERVICE
If we are working online, you accept that we cannot be held responsible if levels of confidentiality are affected by factors beyond our control, for example, the actions or failures of the platform provider (e.g., Zoom).
If we are working online, you accept that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are not interrupted (texts, calls, pets, excessive noise and children etc), or overheard by others at your end of the connection. Any of these could disrupt the session.
You agree to follow the advice emailed to you prior to your session, regarding the technology and environment requirements in which your session will take place.
If we are working online, you agree that we are working under the jurisdiction of the laws and regulations in force in Scotland.
CONFIDENTIALITY
We may keep short written or digital notes from our sessions. Any notes will be confidential and protected by reasonable security safeguards against loss, theft and unauthorised access or use.
The information you give Freedom From…Therapies will be held in the strictest of confidence unless one of the following applies:
- There is a legal requirement for us to share it e.g., where the Children’s Act applies, or a court order is issued.
- Madeleine Harvey has cause to believe that not disclosing the information would expose you/others to a serious risk of harm.
- In the event of disclosure of a criminal offence.
If you are referred by a third party such as an employer or GP, or if we are working as part of a care team, with your consent, we will share pre-arranged levels of information with the others involved. These will be given to you in writing and form part of our agreement.
Madeleine Harvey has regular supervision sessions with a mentor and may need to share information. This is done anonymously and means that some details are removed or changed so that you could not be recognised. If you wish to opt out of this use of your data, please let me know in writing.
DISCLAIMER
The information provided by Madeleine Harvey does not constitute or intend to constitute legal or professional advice. It is not a substitute for the professional advice you would receive from a Medical Doctor (General Practitioner or Consultant), Psychiatrist or Psychologist etc. The information and services provided are not intended to be medical treatment. Any decisions made by yourself, and the consequences thereof, are your own.
Under no circumstances can you hold Madeleine Harvey liable or responsible for any actions, choices or decisions taken by the you (the client). You agree not to hold Madeleine Harvey liable for any loss or cost incurred by you, or any other person related or associated with you, because of materials, techniques, tools, coaching or information offered by Madeleine Harvey.
In the event of any such claim, you shall indemnify Madeleine Harvey and/ or any of their associates, including to, but not limited to any claims made against Madeleine Harvey (Sole Trader), by any person related to or associated with you. Nothing in the content materials shall be considered legal, financial, or actuarial advice.
